Press Release 8/04/2010 - Three high-ranking members of the Mexican Mafia of Texas (Mexikanemi) were sentenced to life in prison for their role in ordering the murders of 24 men.
U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia suggested that former Mexican Mafia prison gang general Jacinto “Cache” Navajar, 54 and gang lieutenants Mike “Mikio” Garcia and Jose “Bam Bam” Martinez spend the rest of their lives at a super-maximum security facility. Inmates at the super-max prison are only allowed out of their cells for one hour a day.
Jurors found all three prison gang members, all of whom operated in San Antonio, Texas — guilty of racketeering at a combined trial in May.
